TMAs function by amplifying the uplink (Rx) and downlink (Tx) signals through RF filters. In the uplink path, the signal is amplified using redundant low-noise amplifiers. A bias-tee function is included to inject the DC supply voltage into the TMA from the inner conductor of the feeder cable.

The new TMAs from Exir Telecom provides security in the event of a possible malfunction. Should anything prevent the TMA from working correctly, a bypass function automatically diverts the signals and activates an alarm notification over the PDU (Power Distribution Unit), indicating the malfunction via LEDs.

The TMA Portfolio from Exir Telecom includes:

- 850 MHz

- 900 MHz - 30 MHz bandwidth

- 1800 MHz only, and 1800 wíth 900 MHz bypass. Products are available with bypass for multi band antenna or for separate antennas

- 2100 MHz UMTS with AISG compliant interface
